A woman with black and gray hair sitting in front of an easel with a partially completed painting of a woman with long blue hair. The room has a bookshelf, posters on the wall, art supplies, and an artist's workspace.

When I paint, I think of my favourite artworks; how they're able to draw me in with light, story, atmosphere and ambiguity.

The longer I stay with a piece and look deeper into its symbols, themes and interconnected narratives, the more I am rewarded as a viewer. That sense of discovery is something I seek in my own work.

I am forever fascinated by the occult, horror cinema, and world mythology. The monstrous creatures, worlds and planes—while seemingly fictional—parallel our own lives and experiences through universal themes. My work explores the liminal space between these realms of togetherness and estrangement, love and loss, reality and dream, human and entity, life and death. I use oils, acrylic and graphite to make discoveries into these mythological journeys, and into my own.

While I work intuitively and use painting as a space to explore my own questions, I notice the changes that take place in the figures I create. It's romantic, gothic and at times tragic, but always, an inevitable transformation takes place.
